A curriculum built for out-of-school time
Nine modules turn our Future Readiness Framework into engaging, real-world learning experiences built for OST.
Every module is designed for the realities of afterschool and summer: mixed ages, flexible attendance, short sessions, and staff with a wide range of experience.
Nine modules, three strands
Modules can run in sequence over a full year or stand alone in a summer program. Each one ends with something young people make, present, or share.
Know yourself. Modules on identity and strengths, goal setting, and managing challenges.
You’ll leave with: a personal goals plan each young person revisits across the year.
Work with others. Modules on communication, collaboration, and community problem-solving.
You’ll leave with: a group project that addresses a real need in the neighborhood.
Build what’s next. Modules on career exploration, financial basics, and creative design.
You’ll leave with: a portfolio of work young people can show to families, schools, and employers.
From the box to the room
- Choose. Pick the modules that fit your age groups, schedule, and goals.
- Prepare. Staff complete a short orientation for each module, with ready-to-use session plans and materials lists.
- Facilitate. Sessions follow a simple arc (warm-up, hands-on activity, reflection) that works in 45 to 90 minutes.
- Showcase. Each module ends with a showcase moment young people can be proud of.
- Reflect. Built-in check-ins connect to measurement, so you can see growth over time.
Flexible by design, consistent in quality
Sessions work with the materials most programs already have. Where something extra is needed, it’s inexpensive and listed up front.
Every session plan includes options for younger and older groups, so one staff member can lead a mixed-age room with confidence.
